Pleat like me began as an experiment in working with pleats, and I was having fun taking this absolutely insane floral and creating something that seemed modest and a bit innocent. I did a stitch along each pleat so as to hold their shape, as the fabric is not synthetic enough to melt / fuse into place (100% cotton canvas). It took ages. When finished however, it was a beautifully pleated skirt that I could wear around the house and around town easily without much trouble. The matching vest was added afterwards, in order to have a set to wear out on a date, or to an event.
