The first lace piece I have made in a while, and I LOVED getting back into it. Lace is stunning on a garment I feel, because its so elegant and beautiful - plus you can see through it. I have a mini skirt acting as a slip under this piece, and my hems are faced with a canvas material. All facings are hand stitched into place, and took many nights of work to finish.
I love the way that the lace interacts with the other materials of this piece and brings some weight into the hem of the skirt. The aubergine underskirt, though modest, lends a nice quality.
