This passion project was born after months of working on a timeless design for a rainbow skirt, using sections of a stabilizing material of a neutral palette to separate the panels of quilted scraps which radiate outwards. My main concern was that it could look too busy, or tacky, and that the colours would not be as sophisticated as intended. I had some sizable scraps of material from other projects which had been accumulating in my sewing space that were the foundational colours for each of the 6 blocks of colour, with other fabrics of the same family filling in the remaining space.
This skirt has since become one of my most beloved creations, and I always feel unstoppable when I wear it.
